Quarterback Maalik Murphy plans to enter the transfer portal after one season at Duke, he told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Murphy helped the Blue Devils go 9-3 in 2024 while throwing 26 touchdown passes, a school single-season record. He also finished the campaign with a 60.3% completion rate and 2,933 passing yards against 12 interceptions, the most in the ACC.
The signal-caller won't play in Duke's Gator Bowl matchup against Ole Miss, Thamel adds.
Murphy joined the Blue Devils a year ago with three years of eligibility remaining after spending two years at Texas. He redshirted his true freshman campaign with the Longhorns in 2022 and started two games for the team in 2023 before transferring.
