Report: DeSean Jackson expected to become Delaware State head coach
Former NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson and Delaware State are finalizing an agreement for the former to become the program's next head football coach, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Jackson recently did an on-campus interview, and a deal is expected to come together soon, Thamel adds.
The California product enjoyed a 15-year career that began with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008 and built a reputation for his speed and deep-threat ability. He led the NFL in yards per reception on four occasions and racked up 11,263 yards until his retirement in 2022.
Jackson made three Pro Bowls and was awarded a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 despite being released in November of that season.
Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick also recently accepted a head coaching gig at the college level, becoming the head coach of Norfolk State.
