Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo doesn't think Texas will be able to defend him in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1.

"There's nobody out there that can stop me," Skattebo said Monday, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson.

"They continue to keep saying that people are going to try to stop me," Skattebo said. "There's nobody out there that can stop me. We played in 13 games, and I've been the target on each one, so I'm not too worried. We're going to play our game and play ball and see what happens there."

Skattebo put on a show this season, rushing for 1,568 yards and 19 touchdowns while recording 506 yards and three TDs on 37 receptions. The senior ranked fifth in the voting for the Heisman Trophy.

Skattebo has posted three straight games with at least 140 yards on the ground, which was crucial as Arizona State beat Iowa State in the Big 12 title game and claimed a bye in the first round of the playoff.

Up next is a huge matchup against a Texas defense that is allowing only 104.5 rushing yards per game and 3.1 yards per carry.

"If they're studying hard, there's a reason," Skattebo said about the Longhorns. "I have full respect for them, because they understand what they're playing against, and that's why I love playing in games like this, because they constantly look at me as a threat, and that's something I've always wanted to be. And if I'm a threat on the football field against an SEC team that was the runner-up to win their conference, then I think I'm in a pretty good position."

The explosive tailback added: "We can outweigh them a little bit at times. And if we continue to do that and be more physical than them, I think this game would go our way for sure."

Skattebo's strong remarks follow Sun Devils quarterback Sam Leavitt's viral comments about Longhorns passer Quinn Ewers.

"I'm going to go prove why I'm the better quarterback," Leavitt recently said.

Texas advanced to the quarterfinal by defeating Clemson in the CFP's first round.
