Michigan's Derrick Moore: Ohio State's title not a real win
Michigan defensive end Derrick Moore took a light-hearted shot at Ohio State on Thursday, saying the Buckeyes' national title didn't count since they didn't defeat the Wolverines.
"First, I'd like to congratulate them on the win ... but you know it's not no real win if y'all ain't beat us," Moore said jokingly, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter.
Ohio State entered the College Football Playoff as the No. 8 seed and won four straight games to take its first national title since 2014. Moore, who was part of a Michigan team that upset the Buckeyes in the last week of the regular season, couldn't resist mocking his rival's path to glory.
"If the playoff expansion wasn't around, (Ohio State) wouldn't have won the national championship," Moore said. "So we pretty much look at it like, y'all had a nice little, easy run. But we helped y'all along the way. We pretty much helped y'all build back up."
He added: "But after that (loss), they dominated everybody that came in front of them. So, gotta give all the credit to them."
Michigan has had its rival's number, winning the last four meetings between them. The next matchup between the Wolverines and Buckeyes is slated for Nov. 29.
