2027 5-star outside linebacker Guyton commits to Texas Tech
Texas Tech made a splash by landing a commitment from 2027 five-star outside linebacker LaDamion Guyton.
Guyton announced his decision Thursday.
"God doesn't make mistakes," he said, according to Rivals' Chad Simmons. "I didn't think I'd commit this early either, but after talking with my mom, it just felt right. That visit showed me exactly what I needed to see."
The Georgia native is the No. 5-ranked recruit and top-rated outside linebacker on the ESPN Jr. 300 list. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker picked Texas Tech over Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida State, among others.
Guyton made a multi-day visit to the Red Raiders in June.
"The best thing about the visit was just feeling at home," Guyton said. "I wanted to get away, try something new - and the people there made it easy. The people make me feel like family. You can tell what's real and what's fake, and they're real at Texas Tech. It felt like family."
The Red Raiders also landed 2026 five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo in June. Ojo reportedly signed a three-year, $5.1-million contract.
