Chip Kelly had an interview with Georgia Tech about the Yellow Jackets' vacant offensive coordinator job, sources told On3's Pete Nakos.

Kelly was at Georgia Tech's bowl practice prep Wednesday, according to Kelly Quinlan of Jackets Online. The school faces BYU in the Pop Tarts Bowl on Dec. 27.

Kelly was fired by the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 23, putting a disappointing end to his return to the NFL.

The 62-year-old, who's coached Oregon and UCLA at the college level, served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Ohio State in 2024, helping the Buckeyes win the national title that season.

Georgia Tech recently signed head coach Brent Key to a five-year extension, and is searching for a new offensive coordinator to replace Buster Faulkner, who's now part of Jon Sumrall's staff at Florida.

The Yellow Jackets posted a 9-3 record in 2025, but their season ended with two straight losses to Pitt and Georgia. They ranked 25th in the nation with an average of 33.1 points per game, up from 28.9 in 2024.
