Temple in 'serious discussion' about building new football stadium
The Temple Owls could be playing football on their own campus in the near future.
The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that university president Neil Theobald said that an on-campus stadium would likely be part of university upgrade plan that is expected to be released in 2014.
The Owls, who currently average 22,958, share Lincoln Financial Field - capacity 68,532 - with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Theobald stated that they are looking at the possibility of sharing the proposed stadium with the University of Pennsylvania. The Quakers currently occupy Franklin Field - only four miles from Temple's campus - which was built in 1895.
A new stadium would likely seat 20,000-30,000.
