Report: Miami's Kevin Olsen will be suspended at least 1 game for failed drug test
The Miami Hurricanes will reportedly embark on the 2014 season without their expected starting pivot under center.
Quarterback Kevin Olsen will be suspended for at least one game for failing a drug test, according to NBC Sports Radio's Adam Kuperstein.
Miami has yet to comment on Olsen's reported transgression, but are familiar with suspending the quarterback. Olsen was sent home for violating team rules prior to their Russell Athletic Bowl thrashing at the hands of Louisville, with whom they open the season against Sept. 1.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Olsen, brother of Carolina Panthers tight end Greg, was the front-runner to start this season after being redshirted last year.
Transferred graduate Jake Heaps and true freshmen Brad Kaaya and Malik Rosier are the remaining quarterbacks on Miami's roster.
