Rick Pitino says Louisville will upset Florida State

Thomas J. Russo-USA TODAY Sports

Longtime Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino is predicting an upset in two weeks when No. 2 Florida State visits Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Kentucky.

The Seminoles will take on Louisville Thursday night and Pitino thinks the 6-2 Cardinals will do the unthinkable.

Louisville opened the season with a 31-13 win over Miami. It's only two losses came by just two and six points, against Virginia and Clemson, respectively.

Florida State, meanwhile, is coming off a confidence-building win over then-No. 5 Notre Dame on Saturday, when the Seminoles' defense picked off Fighting Irish quarterback Everett Golson twice en route to a 31-27 win.

Both teams will sit out this Saturday with bye weeks.

The two teams have played each other 14 times, with the last meeting coming in 2002, when Louisville won 26-20 at home in overtime.
