Knoxville TV station says Lane Kiffin owes barber $14 in satirical news report
In the days leading up to Lane Kiffin's return to Knoxville, Tenn., this Saturday, a local TV station posted a hilarious and completely fabricated story that alleges that Tennessee's former head coach still owes a local barber $14 for a haircut he skipped out on.
In a video and accompanying article that the station says "is meant to be comedic and intentionally includes exaggerations, fabrications, and absolutely ludicrous conclusions," local barber Rusty Manis claims that Kiffin was unable to pay for his haircut because he had forgotten his wallet.
"The next time he came in, when we got done he didn't have any money. He said he forgot his wallet," Manis said. "I said just 'catch us next time' and pay during your next visit. We do that a lot. Sometimes folks either forget their wallets or their kids took lunch money or something. Almost everyone pays us back."
For those who may have forgotten, Kiffin infamously left Tennessee in 2010 to become USC's head coach. He is now Alabama's offensive coordinator.
