East Carolina struck first in Saturday's Birmingham Bowl, as quarterback Shane Carden found wide receiver Justin Hardy in the back of Florida's end zone on a 3-yard pass.
In an effort to add a little bit of insult to injury, Hardy proceeded to get up and do the Gator chomp before heading to the sidelines.
The score gave the Pirates a 7-0 lead over the Gators.
