Gary Patterson: Former Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill will transfer to TCU
TCU head football coach Gary Patterson confirmed Thursday night's reports that former Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill will transfer to Fort Worth to play out his final two years of college eligibility, according to David Ubben of FOX Sports.
The news was first reported by Travis L. Brown of the Star-Telegram.
The move had been expected since Hill was granted his release from Texas A&M.
The standout quarterback told Brown on Thursday that he'll soon enroll in classes and join the football program.
Despite the fast start to his sophomore season at College Station, Hill lost his starting spot to Kyle Allen by November and was later suspended two games for violating team rules.
The quarterback will be required to sit out for one year upon transferring to TCU, but with senior Trevone Boykin entrenched as the starter, it's unlikely he would've challenged for playing time during the upcoming season anyway.
With two years of eligibility remaining after the year spent on the sidelines, Hill is expected to compete for the lead job under center in 2016.
