As a teenager, Derek Jeter was offered a scholarship to play baseball at Michigan. He instead chose to go pro after being drafted by the New York Yankees, and by all accounts that decision worked out fairly well for him.
Still, the Great Lakes State native keeps close ties with the Wolverines, and he was at The Big House Saturday for the football team's showdown with No. 22 BYU - where coach Jim Harbaugh gave him a shirt. No word on whether Jeter reciprocated with a thank you gift basket.
