The 2015 season has been one to forget for UCF, which joins Kansas as the only other winless FBS program, and the Knights appear to be looking at Florida co-defensive coordinator Randy Shannon as the man to turn things around.

The former Miami head coach will interview for the vacant UCF head-coaching position, which is currently filled on an interim basis by Danny Barrett, according to Adam Shadoff of Fox 35 News.

Shannon spent six seasons as the defensive coordinator with the Hurricanes before taking over the program as head coach from 2007-10, compiling a 28-22 record.

George O'Leary retired as UCF's head coach in late October, and Shannon's deep recruiting ties in the state of Florida could help the Knights return to respectability.
