Kyler Murray: Texas A&M 'was a good learning experience'
The college football world was shocked last season when Texas A&M lost prized quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray to transfer within a week of each other, without much of a reason.
Allen ended up at Houston, while Murray transferred to Oklahoma, and spoke during the Sooners spring practice Thursday about his overall experience with the Aggies.
"I'm a pretty strong-minded kid, so all the stuff that I went through - which, none of it's really out there; nobody knows what happened - but everything that I've been through, it was a good learning experience," Murray said to Jason Kersey of The Oklahoman. "I think it's helped me so far grow as a man, a football player, everything. I look at it as a positive. And now that I'm here I'm ready to learn it all and get to work."
Murray was the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country coming out of high school, and represented a huge recruiting win for Kevin Sumlin, just a year after Allen committed as the top-ranked pocket-passing quarterback in the country.
In his only season with the Aggies, Murray threw for just 686 yards and five touchdowns, while getting intercepted seven times. As per NCAA transfer regulations, the Texas native won't be eligible until the 2017 campaign.
