Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Franklin Gutierrez (SEA) | at TEX | 8 |
Robbie Grossman (MIN) | vs. TB | 8 |
Jose Ramirez (CLE) | vs. KC | 8 |
Matt Kemp (SD) | vs. COL | 8 |
Nelson Cruz (SEA) | at TEX | 7 |
Excelling against left-handed pitching, Gutierrez is on a nine-game hit streak, with four home runs and 10 RBIs in that stretch. LHP Derek Holland fares much worse against right-handed hitters, with Gutierrez an affordable alternative (or complement) to the pricier Cruz.
While receiving only minimal increases in his DFS price, Grossman keeps on producing, hitting .348 with two home runs and nine RBIs through 14 games. LHP Drew Smyly's recent struggles (16 runs allowed and three HRs over his last three games) could allow Grossman to keep on rolling.
Kemp has been extremely reliable, with four straight games with at least one hit, run scored and RBI. Colorado's Jon Gray has a 5.76 ERA through eight starts this season

Ian Desmond (TEX) | vs. SEA | 7 |
George Springer (HOU) | vs. OAK | 7 |
J.D. Martinez (DET) | vs. CWS | 7 |
Jackie Bradley Jr. (BOS) | vs. TOR | 7 |
Colby Rasmus (HOU) | vs. OAK | 7 |
Evan Gattis (HOU) | vs. OAK | 7 |
Jayson Werth (WAS) | at CIN | 7 |
Cameron Maybin (DET) | vs. CWS | 7 |
Gregor Blanco (SF) | at STL | 7 |
Lonnie Chisenhall (CLE) | vs. KC | 7 |
Nomar Mazara (TEX) | vs. SEA | 7 |
Mike Trout (LAA) | at PIT | 7 |
Mookie Betts (BOS) | vs. TOR | 7 |
If Sonny Gray is still in his pre-DL funk, Rasmus could offer a low-priced power threat, since all eight of his home runs have come against right-handed pitching. Gattis has homered in three of four games, including Saturday, and like Rasmus, is an all-or-nothing power threat. Springer is pricier, but has been reliably hitting from the top of the order.

Marcell Ozuna (MIA) | vs. NYM | 5 |
Jones has been red hot, with seven hits and two home runs in his last four games, but CC Sabathia has been surprisingly solid thus far, limiting Jones' appeal despite him hitting leadoff. The same can be said for Trumbo.
It's possible Aoki sits for a second straight game with another left-hander slated to start. Aoki is far better against righties, and the switch-hitting O'Malley could hit leadoff again Sunday.
Harper seemingly has a great matchup with the volatile Jon Moscot (eight home runs allowed in his four starts, and at least one in each), but he'll likely be carefully pitched around. Since the start of May, Harper has had just two multi-RBI games.

Adam Duvall (CIN) | vs. WAS | 4 |
Jay Bruce (CIN) | vs. WAS | 4 |
Giancarlo Stanton (MIA) | vs. NYM | 3 |
Michael Bourn (ARI) | at CHC | 3 |
Curtis Granderson (NYM) | at MIA | 2 |
Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) | at MIA | 2 |
Michael Conforto (NYM) | at MIA | 2 |
Washington's Tanner Roark has been able to limit the long ball (0.64 HR/9), limiting the appeal of pricey Reds sluggers Bruce and Duvall.
Stanton has just one hit since coming back from a brief injury absence on June 1. He's striking out almost 35 per cent of the time, which would be by far his highest mark as a pro. While one swing of the bat could result in a productive DFS night, he's too big of a risk right now.
The Mets, including the ailing Cespedes, are stay-aways on the road against Jose Fernandez.
