Dan Gilbert's infamous post-Decision letter would have been enough to make most NBA players in LeBron James' position blacklist the Cleveland Cavaliers forever.
But James wasn't just thinking about basketball when he returned to his hometown team after several years competing in South Beach, and he wasn't swayed by any ill will against the Cavaliers owner.
"It's more of a bigger picture ... all these kids, all these people that need inspiration and need a way to get out. And I believe that I'm that way out," James said in a New Orleans barbershop over All-Star Weekend for ESPN's "The Shop."
The decision wasn't easy to accept for his mother or wife, however. Both were extremely reluctant to head back to Cleveland after Gilbert's harsh words.

"Let's not worry about the small shit," James said he told his mom. "Let's worry about us trying to build something that's bigger than our name."
The Cavaliers have been in The Finals each year since James came back, but are currently one loss away from being swept by the Golden State Warriors.
