With Monday's official reveal of their new duds, the Charlotte Hornets became the first NBA team to feature Jordan Brand's iconic Jumpman logo. The team had previously announced it would be the lone squad to feature Michael Jordan's famous silhouette during the 2017-18 season.
Home-grown Hornets Kemba Walker and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist showed off two of the four uniforms the team will sport in the upcoming campaign - the "Icon" and "Association" jerseys - which will effectively replace their standard home and away kits. At least two more uniforms will be released this fall, inspired by "the athlete's mindset" and "community," with the possibility remaining that Charlotte will be one of eight teams to receive a "classic" jersey as well.
Nike took over from Adidas as the league's jersey supplier for the 2017-18 season and teams have been slowly debuting their updated swoosh-emblazoned apparel. Because the Hornets are owned by none other than Jordan himself, the sportswear provider made a design exception that's certainly generating plenty of buzz.
