The Tampa Bay Rays have reportedly suspended the club's No. 1 prospect, pitcher Brent Honeywell, for four games for "disciplinary reasons," according to the Tampa Bay Times' Marc Topkin.
Specifics surrounding Honeywell's reported suspension weren't readily made available, though the 22-year-old was supposedly punished for what's described as an "internal disciplinary incident," Topkin added.
Honeywell - the 14th overall prospect in the majors, according to MLB Pipeline - opened the 2017 season with the Rays' Double-A affiliate, before quickly earning a promotion to Triple-A after just two starts.
In 118 1/3 innings (23 starts) with Triple-A Durham, the right-hander is crafting a 3.80 ERA and 1.33 WHIP while striking out 11.2 batters per nine.
