Look: Penguins unveil 2017 Stanley Cup ring
Diamonds are a Penguin's best friend.
The Pittsburgh Penguins unveiled the rings that each player, coach, and staff member of the 2017 Stanley Cup-winning team received for their efforts, and it's something.
The rings - made by Jostens - each feature 392 round diamonds, a .75 carat pear-shaped diamond, and a tapered baguette-shaped diamond, for a total carat weight of 9.25.
It features a "5" in the Penguin's eye for the number of Stanley Cups the club has won.
The left side of the ring includes the player's name and number with the inscription "Back 2 Back." The right side features the year "2017" and five Stanley Cups with the years of their Cup wins. Finally, the inside of the ring has the team's motto - "Play The Right Way" - and the records during the seven-game series' which the Penguins won on their way to the Cup.
For a select few who were lucky enough to have the 2017 Stanley Cup be the third of their careers, they got an extra three diamonds on the back side of their rings.
There's good news for Penguins fans as well. For a limited time, Jostens is offering personalized Penguins jewelry, including a replica of the ring that can feature your name and a smaller number of diamonds for $6,500.
