Report: Georgia's Patrick enters drug program, expected to miss CFP
It appears as though Georgia will be without Natrez Patrick for the remainder of the season, as the linebacker has entered a drug treatment program and is not expected to play in the College Football Playoff, sources told Mark Schlabach of ESPN
Patrick, who started seven games this season for the Bulldogs, faced a misdemeanor drug charge after the SEC championship game in early December, but it was dismissed shortly afterward.
That arrest triggered a drug test on Patrick, which he failed and, as a result, will enter the drug treatment program, county solicitor C.R. Chisholm told Marc Weiszer from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday.
Patrick is the sixth-leading tackler on the third-ranked Bulldogs, who face No. 2 Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
