Report: Aguero convinced Guardiola wants him out
Sergio Aguero believes Pep Guardiola will force him out of Manchester City, sources close to the player told Goal correspondent Sam Lee.
Aguero is reportedly unhappy with Guardiola's rotation policy, and feels the Spaniard doesn't respect his achievements as City's all-time record scorer.
Guardiola has no personal issue with the 29-year-old, sources close to City's manager told Goal, although they admit the Argentine is "prone to mood swings." Aguero tossed his gloves to the ground as he was substituted in last weekend's win over Tottenham.
Gabriel Jesus also started ahead of Aguero in the Manchester derby, a decision that allegedly left the Argentine "perplexed."
It's possible that Guardiola is simply trying to ease the burden on Aguero and maximise the tremendous depth on his bench. The Daily Mail's Jack Gaughan reported last week that Aguero has been playing through the pain of a heel injury.
But the player still thinks he's being treated unfairly and ungratefully, Lee reports. Despite enjoying a good relationship with teammates, supporters, and top club officials, Aguero is apparently concerned about his future.
He may be feeling let down by City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak, who reportedly asked Aguero to remain at the club last summer and told the striker he would get more opportunities.
Aguero has still secured starts in 17 matches across all competitions, while also recovering from a car accident.
His contract with City expires in June 2019.
