Report: Titans to interview Texans' Vrabel, Rams' LaFleur for HC job
The Tennessee Titans have identified a few initial candidates for their vacant head coaching position, scheduling an interview with Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel, reports John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur will also interview for the position, a source told Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.
Mike Mularkey was fired from the position Monday.
Vrabel has been on the Texans' coaching staff since 2014, serving one year as defensive coordinator. He spent eight seasons as a linebacker for the New England Patriots and has a relationship with Titans general manager Jon Robinson, who also worked for the franchise during that time.
LaFleur, 38, served just one year as Rams offensive coordinator under Sean McVay, helping take the unit from the 32nd-ranked offense in 2016 to the fourth-best in 2017. He previously served as the Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach the two year prior to his position in Los Angeles.
