Report: Free agent DeMarco Murray set to visit Lions
Free-agent running back DeMarco Murray is scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions on Monday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It will be Murray's first visit since being released by the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.
The 30-year-old struggled with injuries and inconsistency during the 2017 season, averaging career lows in yards per carry (3.6) and rushing yards (659) while scoring six touchdowns.
Detroit has a clear need at running back heading into 2018, owning the league's worst run offense last season. The team has not had a 1000-yard rusher since Reggie Bush in 2013. Murray alone has eclipsed the barrier twice since then.
The veteran ball carrier may be attempting to land a contract before the new league year begins Wednesday, when other talented free-agent backs become available.
