The Seattle Seahawks signed veteran kicker Sebastian Janikowski, the team announced Friday.
The deal is for one year, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Janikowski, or "Seabass" as he's affectionately referred to, is coming off an 18-year tenure with the Oakland Raiders, where he established himself as one of the game's most consistent and powerful kickers. He missed all the 2017 season due to a back injury.
Janikowski, famously, was drafted by the Raiders 17th overall in the 2000 draft. The 40-year-old holds the NFL record for most career field goals made from 50 yards out or longer.
