Former Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is joining the Miami Dolphins as their senior passing game coordinator, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Slowik will reunite with head coach Mike McDaniel after the pair served as assistants on the San Francisco 49ers from 2017-21. Slowik's brother, Ryan, is the Dolphins' defensive backs coach.

The Texans dismissed Slowik in January after two seasons. The 37-year-old was considered a popular head coaching candidate in 2023 following his first campaign as a play-caller with the club.

Houston's offensive production dipped this past season, averaging 21.9 points and 319.7 total yards per game compared to 22.2 points and 342.4 yards in 2023.

The Texans will task Slowik with helping develop quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after he spent the past two seasons shepherding C.J. Stroud. Miami averaged 219.8 passing yards per contest in 2024.

Slowik began his NFL career in 2011 as a defensive assistant for the Washington Commanders. He joined the 49ers in 2017 and remained with the club in various roles for several years, including offensive pass-game coordinator.
