Sterling Brown sues Milwaukee PD for unlawful arrest, excessive force
Bucks guard Sterling Brown has filed a lawsuit against the Milwaukee Police Department for unlawful arrest and excessive force stemming from a parking violation in January, according to a complaint filed in federal court, per ESPN.
Brown was tazed and tackled by 11 police officers during an arrest for double-parking across two disabled spots. Body camera footage showed Brown offered no resistance during the arrest and posed no threats to the officers involved.
Milwaukee police chief Alonso Morales offered a public apology, but only three of the officers were given suspensions, which lasted between two and 15 days. The other eight were ordered to undergo remedial training.
The lawsuit by Brown also includes insensitive comments from one of the arresting officers, Erik Andrade, who joked about his treatment of Brown on more than one occasion.
