Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the NFL's 2018 Offensive Player of the Year award Saturday.
Mahomes earned 30 votes, outpacing New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (16), Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins (2), and Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley (2).
In just his first season as the Chiefs' starting quarterback, Mahomes and Co. produced the league's No. 1 offense and No. 3 passing game. The 23-year-old threw for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions.
Later in the evening, Mahomes topped Brees for the league MVP award.
Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers in 2015 and Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 were the last two players to win both awards.
