New Jersey Devils forward Kurtis Gabriel received a one-game suspension Saturday for boarding Philadelphia Flyers forward Nolan Patrick on Friday, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced.
Here's a look at the play:
Gabriel received a five-minute major on the play.
Patrick returned to the game and eventually got his revenge on Gabriel.
Gabriel has three points and 44 penalty minutes in 14 games this season while averaging less than seven minutes per night. He picked up more penalty minutes on Friday (seven) than shots on goal this year (five).
