Comedian Frank Caliendo prank called Cardinals as Jon Gruden before draft
Comedian Frank Caliendo has a knack for imitating others and tried to use that skill to shake things up on Day 1 of the NFL draft.
During an appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show" on Monday, Caliendo revealed he sent a fake trade request to Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim while posing as Jon Gruden.
"So, I'm sending Steve Keim messages from Jon Gruden," Caliendo said before launching into his Gruden impression. "'I'll tell you what, man. I love you, brother. I got an idea. How about you draft somebody else at No. 1? How about you draft (Nick) Bosa at No. 1? And then I'll draft Kyler Murray at No. 4. We'll make a trade. I'll give you my 27th pick, you give me a second-rounder. We have the best trade ever, man. I think it works out for both teams.'"
Here's Caliendo interacting with the real Jon Gruden in a spoof of "Gruden's QB Camp":
