KD leaves Game 5 due to injury
Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant left Game 5 early in the second quarter and appeared to be favoring his right calf, which he injured earlier in the postseason.
The Warriors ruled him out for the remainder of the game with a right lower-leg injury and he'll have an MRI on Tuesday, the team announced.
Durant left Scotiabank Arena on crutches with a walking boot on his right foot.
The All-Star forward was making a move toward the basket when he appeared to re-aggravate the injury while planting his right foot. Durant remained on the ground clutching his lower leg and called for the trainers shortly thereafter. He was then helped off the court to the locker room.
Durant came out firing in his first appearance since Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets. The two-time Finals MVP had 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting - including a perfect 3-for-3 from distance - in 12 minutes of action.
He entered Game 5 leading all postseason scorers with 34.2 points per game on 51.3 percent shooting.
