High school football player cast as LeBron's son in 'Space Jam 2'
The "Space Jam 2" cast continues to take shape.
Ceyair Wright, a junior cornerback and wide receiver at Loyola High School in Los Angeles, will play the role of LeBron James' son in the upcoming movie, according to Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times.
"It's been amazing. It's still crazy thinking about it," Wright said. "It's a dream come true."
Wright was also very complimentary of James.
"He's such a humble guy," the 16-year-old added. "He's just like a friend. He's a mentor now."
Wright began modeling and shooting commercials at a young age, but "Space Jam 2" is the biggest gig of his career thus far. The movie is set to hit theaters in July 2021, when Wright expects to be preparing for the start of college football.
Other actors confirmed for roles in "Space Jam 2" include "Star Trek: Discovery" star Sonequa Martin-Green, who will reportedly play James' wife, and Academy Award nominee Don Cheadle.
