Report: Jets, Cardinals, Texans interested in Trent Williams trade
As expected, Trent Williams trade rumors are heating up.
The New York Jets are among the teams pursuing a deal for the Washington Redskins left tackle, sources told Connor Hughes of The Athletic.
Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans are interested in Williams, according to The Athletic's Ben Standig.
The Redskins reportedly granted the disgruntled veteran permission to seek a trade after he missed the 2019 campaign due to a medical-related dispute with the team.
Williams made seven straight Pro Bowls before last season.
Washington shopped the 31-year-old prior to last season's trade deadline and was reportedly seeking a first-round pick. The tackle is entering the final year of his contract, so his new team would likely ink him to a big-money extension.
Kelvin Beachum was New York's left tackle in 2019. He gave up four sacks and 27 pressures in 13 starts, according to PFF.
The Cardinals kept LT D.J. Humphries from hitting free agency after reportedly giving him a three-year, $44.25-million contract earlier in February. The 26-year-old started the entire regular season for the first time in his career last year.
Houston, meanwhile, acquired Laremy Tunsil in a blockbuster trade prior to the beginning of the 2019 campaign. The Pro Bowler is set to play the fifth year of his rookie deal in 2020. Both sides have discussed a new contract as Tunsil reportedly aims for around $19 million annually.
