Driving Relief skins game betting preview: Fowler, Wolff provide all the value
Unfamiliar with TaylorMade's Driving Relief skins game? Find out everything you need to know about the charity event here.
First things first - betting on the TaylorMade Driving Relief skins game May 17 - featuring Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler, and Matthew Wolff - is far different from a regular PGA Tour event. Typically in golf, identifying long shots that can win a tournament at 40-1 odds and above is the objective. But not here.
With that said, it doesn't mean there isn't value to be had with the variety of prop bets available. But before jumping into the secondary market, let's focus on the main event.
Pick to win

The team of McIlroy and Johnson are heavily favored to win the most money with odds hovering around -175, and deservedly so. They are ranked Nos. 1 and 5 in the world, respectively, and have over six times the amount of combined PGA Tour victories compared to Fowler and Wolff.
However, there are concerns surrounding the favored team, especially with Johnson. First, how much will he really care about an 18-hole exhibition match when it appears he can barely muster up enough motivation to play a standard PGA Tour event? Then there are his woes at Seminole Golf Club, the venue for the competition.
"When you first get there and you look at it, you think, OK, I should tear this place up, but then when you get done playing, you add your score up and it's never very good," Johnson said of Seminole, according to PGA Tour.com's Ben Everill. "I always struggle there."
If DJ always struggles at Seminole, what's going to change come Sunday?
On the other side is Fowler and Wolff, who aren't going to go down without a fight.
"I think putting is a huge advantage there," Wolff said about Seminole.
Luckily his partner is the best putter in the group.

Fowler's been playing a ton of golf to keep his game sharp, at least it appears that way on his Instagram.
As underdogs, Fowler and Wolff have absolutely nothing to lose and should flourish in the laid-back environment. You have to think Wolff will be highly motivated to prove he's worthy of a spot on the big stage alongside three of golf's most popular players, and Fowler will do what it takes to help his younger partner out.
Pick: Fowler, Wolff to win the most money (+150)
Props
Will Fowler wear orange pants?

Fowler is known for representing Oklahoma State by dawning bright orange on Sunday, and oddsmakers are giving you a chance to bet on whether or not that trend continues at the skins game.
When he was younger, Fowler almost always wore orange pants but has transitioned to shirts and accessories as of late. However, he wore orange pants at the Arnold Palmer Invitational prior to golf's hiatus and recently posted a video on Instagram in the lead-up to the charity match wearing orange pants. Bank on the famous slacks returning this Sunday.
Pick: Yes (+110)
Closest to the pin
Fowler provides all the value for the two closest-to-the-pin props for Nos. 5 and 8. The contestants have the same odds for both holes:
McIlroy: +225
Johnson: +250
Fowler: +260
Wolff: +340
Fowler is arguably the best long iron player in the group and could easily hit it closest on both of the par 3s on the opening nine.
Pick: Fowler wins closest to the pin on No. 5 and No. 8 (+260)
Leader after hole No. 3
The first three holes at Seminole Golf Club are two par 4s and a par 5. McIlroy and Johnson instantly have an advantage because of their length. Plus, it's safe to assume Wolff will be a little nervous on the first few holes and might struggle.
Pick: McIlroy, Johnson lead after hole No. 3 (-137)
Will Wolff hit the fairway on No. 1?

Assuming Wolff doesn't hit iron off of the first tee, you can expect some jitters from the 21-year-old and a loose opening tee shot. The first hole is a dog-leg right with bunkers down the left side. Wolff likes to hit the ball from right-to-left, so this hole will not suit his eye off of the tee.
Pick: No (+200)
Longest drive on No. 14
There will be two long-drive competitions during the match, taking place on Nos. 2 and 14. Here are the odds for who will hit it the furthest:
McIlroy: +125
Johnson: +200
Wolff: +400
Fowler: +750
The caveat to the long-drive comps on these two holes is that the player doesn't need to hit the fairway in order for it to count. In other words - bombs away. McIlroy should take the first contest on No. 2, and by the 14th hole, Wolff should be settled in and be able to grip it and rip it.
Picks: McIlroy wins the long-drive contest on No. 2 (+125); Wolff wins it on No. 14 (+400)
