Report: Another Marlins player tests positive as team outbreak reaches 18

The Miami Marlins' COVID-19 outbreak is up to 16 players and two coaches after another unnamed major leaguer tested positive, sources told Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

The new confirmed case is reportedly the only positive in the most recent tests.

More than half of Miami's major-league roster has now contracted the virus. Four more players tested positive Tuesday, which reportedly included infielder Miguel Rojas, who was vocal about the team playing over the weekend despite concerns surrounding the potential spread of the virus.

The Philadelphia Phillies - the Marlins' last opponent - reportedly received negative tests for all players and staff since the two teams played at Citizens Bank Park.

Major League Baseball was forced to rejig its schedule as a result of the outbreak. The Marlins won't play until at least Monday.
