Report: Suarez to leave Barcelona, multiple clubs interested
Ronald Koeman's revolution at Barcelona apparently won't involve Luis Suarez.
The 33-year-old striker will leave the Catalan side in the coming days, according to Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian, who adds that many teams are interested in the Uruguayan's services.
Romano reported last week that Ajax, one of Suarez's former clubs, have contacted his agent in a bid to re-sign the veteran.
Koeman, who took over as Barca's manager in the wake of their humiliating Champions League defeat to eventual tournament winners Bayern Munich, informed Suarez on Monday he's not part of the club's plans moving forward, according to reports in Spain.
Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, and Samuel Umtiti received similar calls from the new bench boss, according to Sid Lowe of The Guardian.
The increasingly injury-prone Suarez is coming off his worst statistical campaign since joining Barcelona from Liverpool in 2014. He scored 16 La Liga goals this season, missing significant time after undergoing knee surgery in January.
Despite his statistical dip, Suarez still finished second on the team in scoring, trailing only Lionel Messi; Antoine Griezmann was the club's next-best scorer, contributing nine league goals on the campaign.
