Report: Barca's Rakitic closes in on Sevilla return
Croatian international Ivan Rakitic is returning to Sevilla after six successful seasons with Barcelona.
Rakitic is having a medical on Monday following an agreement between the two sides, with the 32-year-old putting pen to paper on a three-year deal, according to a report from The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.
Rakitic, who reportedly asked Barcelona if he could be included in the Catalan side's massive summer exodus, originally joined Sevilla in January 2011 from Schalke for a €2.5-million transfer fee.
Rakitic made 149 appearances in all competitions while with Sevilla, winning the Europa League in 2013-14 before moving to Barcelona the following summer.
Rakitic featured 31 times in the league this term for Barcelona, his lowest haul in a half-dozen seasons with the club as Frenkie de Jong's addition pushed the World Cup finalist down the depth chart.
