New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is dealing with a foot injury that limited him in practice Wednesday, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.

The injury is not considered major as the Saints prepare for a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Head coach Sean Payton says the team will be careful with Kamara and designated him as "day-to-day," according to The Athletic's Greg Auman.

The 25-year-old compared the injury to a stubbed toe. "That shit hurts," Kamara said, according to Underhill. The star running back added that he will play Sunday and expects to practice Thursday.

Kamara rushed for 67 yards on 12 attempts, adding nine receptions for 96 yards in the Saints' 26-23 overtime win against the Chicago Bears.

Through seven games, the Tennessee alum has rushed for 431 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 5 yards per carry. He's also added 55 receptions for 556 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

Elsewhere, quarterback Drew Brees was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a right shoulder injury, according to Underhill. The signal-caller downplayed the issue.

"I'm always limited on Wednesdays," Brees said. "I'm 41 years old. I have a lot of stuff going on. I keep ticking."

Star wideout Michael Thomas was limited too as he continues to recover from ankle and hamstring problems.
