Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson sustained an upper-body injury against the Seattle Kraken and was ruled out for the rest of the contest, the team announced.

Kraken forward Tye Kartye hit Carlsson in the second period, causing the latter to fall awkwardly into the goalpost.

Ducks head coach Greg Cronin didn't have an update on Carlsson's status after the game.

"Leo's one of our best players," he said, per The Hockey News' Derek Lee. "You take anybody's best player off, there's going to be a little bit of hiccup in the way you play, but it's hockey. It happens."

Carlsson had six goals and 11 points in 19 games coming into Tuesday's contest.

The Ducks drafted Carlsson second overall in 2023. He collected 12 goals and 29 points in 55 contests as a rookie last season.
