Broncos sending ball from Sunday's win to HOFer Little in hospice care

Denver Broncos Hall of Fame running back Floyd Little, who entered hospice care Saturday, has a game ball coming to him from his former team.

Broncos head coach Vic Fangio announced following the team's 20-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday that the team would be sending the ball to Little.

"We talked about (Little)," Fangio said, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN. "One of the all-time greats in Broncos history, old No. 44, I remember as a kid growing up - I was an Eagles fan growing up - but from afar I was a Floyd Little fan, too. ... We're going to get it sent to him."

Little, 78, was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Selected sixth overall by the Broncos in the 1967 AFL-NFL draft, Little spent his entire nine-year career in Denver, rushing for 6,323 yards and 43 touchdowns in 117 games. He saw his No. 44 retired by both the Broncos and collegiate team Syracuse.
