Le'Veon Bell: 'I'll never play for Andy Reid again'
It seems Le'Veon Bell didn't enjoy his short stint with the Kansas City Chiefs last season.
The free-agent running back recently wrote in an Instagram comment that he has zero interest in playing for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid again, adding he'd rather call it a career.
"I'll never play for Andy Reid again," Bell wrote. "I'd retire first."
Bell joined the Chiefs midway through last season on a one-year deal after the New York Jets released him only five weeks into the campaign.
The 29-year-old was given a limited role in Kansas City, racking up 254 yards (four per carry) and two touchdowns on 63 attempts over nine regular-season appearances. He then played in just one game during the playoffs, rushing for six yards.
Once one of the league's premier tailbacks, the three-time Pro Bowler hasn't topped 1,000 rushing yards or 10 touchdowns in a season since his last year with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017.
The 2013 second-round pick amassed 863 yards (3.27 per carry) and three rushing touchdowns over 17 appearances with the Jets, who made him one of the NFL's highest-paid running backs, giving Bell a four-year, $52.5-million deal in March 2019. He also caught 69 passes for 500 yards and one score in New York.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs have reached the Super Bowl in two straight seasons. Kansas City drafted Clyde Edwards-Helaire in 2020, and the first-round back led the team with 181 carries, 803 yards, and four rushing touchdowns as a rookie.
