Prescott remains on track for Week 1 as shoulder healing well
The Dallas Cowboys received good news about Dak Prescott's injured shoulder.
Prescott remains on track to play in the season opener Sept. 9 after his second MRI revealed his shoulder strain is healing, the Cowboys announced Saturday.
It remains unclear whether the quarterback will play in the Cowboys' next preseason game.
Prescott has been working his way back since leaving practice July 28. He had no issues during a throwing session prior to Friday's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals and has participated in light passing drills over the last week.
The 28-year-old said Wednesday that he planned to participate in the Aug. 21 exhibition contest against the Houston Texans. However, the Cowboys have stressed caution.
Prescott has been adamant throughout the process that he could play if it were the regular season. The Cowboys open their campaign against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
