Zion to miss several more weeks after suffering hamstring setback

New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson is set to miss multiple weeks following the coming All-Star break after re-aggravating his hamstring injury, David Griffin, the team's executive vice president of basketball, said Sunday, according to Andrew Lopez of ESPN.

Williamson, who hasn't played since Jan. 2, will be re-evaluated after the break. He suffered the setback doing on-court work in his recovery, Griffin added.

The Pelicans star was initially expected to miss a minimum of three weeks with the injury. However, Williamson was ruled out of the Feb. 19 All-Star Game, for which he was voted a starter, on Wednesday. Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox were later named as injury replacements for Williamson and Stephen Curry.

Through 29 games this season, Williamson is tallying 26 points per game along with seven rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals.

Since the former Duke phenom's last appearance, the Pelicans are 6-14 and on pace for a play-in appearance. They're one game out of a top-six seed but also just 1.5 games clear of the 11th-placed Utah Jazz.
