McClung, who only signed a two-way deal with the 76ers on Tuesday, clinched the crown with an incredible rotating slam while dressed in his high school jersey. He's the first G League player to compete in the NBA's Slam Dunk contest, let alone win the event.
The 24-year-old McClung went undrafted in 2021 after playing two years at Georgetown followed by one season at Texas Tech. He played just one game apiece last season for the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, the latter coming in the final contest of the 2021-22 regular season. He has spent the entire 2022-23 campaign to date with Philadelphia's G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.
