Report: NFL questioning Falcons over Robinson's health timeline

The NFL is asking the Atlanta Falcons about the timeline surrounding Bijan Robinson's health after the rookie running back sat out the majority of Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to an illness, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The league wants to know when the team became aware Robinson wasn't feeling well and why it wasn't reported, Schefter adds.

Robinson played just 11 snaps and received one carry, which came late in the fourth quarter. His absence remained a mystery until head coach Arthur Smith revealed at halftime that Robinson wasn't feeling right. The rookie running back went into more detail postgame, sharing that he was stricken by headaches Saturday night.

"I woke up (last night) just completely out of it. I tried to take medicine so I could be good for the game," Robinson said. "But my head was hurting - bad. I don't know what was going on. I tried to go in pregame, but then Coach Smith said, 'We'll be all right. Let's get you right.'"

Atlanta did not add Robinson to the injury report because the organization believed he would play, per Schefter.

The NFL typically questions teams due to injury-report compliance concerns. Violations result in a fine.
