Raiders GM: Adams not being traded
Las Vegas Raiders general manager Tom Telesco shut down speculation about Davante Adams being traded this offseason amid rumors that he could be courted by the New York Jets.
"He's a Raider," Telesco told reporters Tuesday at the NFL combine in Indianapolis, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It was reported earlier this month that Aaron Rodgers, Adams' former teammate, was trying to recruit the wideout to the Jets. New York has repeatedly been linked to Adams, with the team's reported attempts at last season's trade deadline rebuffed.
Adams is under contract with Las Vegas through 2026. The six-time Pro Bowler recorded 1,516 yards in his first campaign with the Raiders before accumulating 1,144 yards in 2023. His 14 receiving touchdowns in 2022 led the league.
Telesco, who was made general manager this offseason, also addressed the future of star running back Josh Jacobs, who's slated to be a free agent.
"We're going to explore pretty hard and see if we can bring him back," Telesco said, according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.
Though Jacobs was franchise-tagged last year, Telesco said he doesn't envision the front office utilizing the tag again this offseason, per NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano.
Las Vegas went 8-9 in 2023, though it finished 5-4 under Antonio Pierce, who's now the team's full-time head coach.
