LeBron 'lost focus' watching Bronny train with Lakers

Staying focused has become more difficult for LeBron James now that he and his eldest son, Bronny James, are on the same NBA team.

The Los Angeles Lakers star spoke about his first experience training with his son on Friday's episode of the "GoJo and Golic" podcast, admitting he had a few moments where he became distracted watching Bronny.

"This week, we got back into the gym, and it was really the first time that me and Bronny were basically on the floor as professionals, training, going against each other, preparing for the season," James said. "I had a couple of moments where I kind of just, I lost focus, and I'm not used to losing focus when I'm out on the floor. There were a couple of times I was looking to the side and just watching him, and watching him prepare, and watching him go after it. It's gonna be an unbelievable year for myself, and I hope for him as well."

James also revealed whether Bronny has adhered to his request to not call him "dad" on the court.

"You know what? He has not said anything yet," James said. "He has not given me a name yet on the practice court and I've actually had my ears so open waiting for that moment. I know it's gonna come at one point, and I don't know if I'm going to be surprised by it or in awe of whatever he calls me."

The Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th overall pick at the 2024 NBA Draft, making him and James the first father-son duo to play in the league at the same time.
