Adams not sure why Pierce liked trade speculation post
The chatter surrounding a possible Davante Adams trade got even louder after Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce liked an Instagram post Monday about the possibility that the star receiver had played his final game for the team.
Pierce's like also comes as a mystery to Adams, who said Tuesday that he hasn't yet heard from his coach about it.
"I haven't heard from him," Adams told Kay Adams on the "Up & Adams" show. "I haven't talked to him. I don't really know exactly what that's all about."
Adams' name has popped up in trade speculation again, though a move is reportedly not currently an option for the Raiders.
The 31-year-old admitted that being involved in rumors does get irritating.
"It gets annoying, for sure," Adams added. "I'm one of those players people like to talk about one way or the other."
The six-time Pro Bowler missed Sunday's win over the Cleveland Browns due to a hamstring injury and is reportedly considered week-to-week.
"All I can control is this talk we're having right here and then after we're done with this, all I can control is the next thing I'm on to," Adams responded when asked about speculation he's played his final snap with the Raiders.
The NFL's trade deadline is Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. ET.
