Oregon retained the top spot in the second College Football Playoff rankings this season.

Oregon, Texas, BYU, and Miami would have first-round byes in the latest bracket projection.
Georgia would be left out of the playoff bracket despite being the 12th-ranked team. No. 13 Boise State would earn the final seed as the projected fifth conference champion under the new 12-team format.

Three of college football's four remaining undefeated teams find themselves in the top six. Army, the final undefeated squad, moved up one spot to No. 24.
South Carolina and Tulane joined the top 25 after being absent in the first rankings, while Iowa State (formerly No. 17) and Pitt (formerly No. 18) have dropped out.
