Grizzlies' Edey week-to-week with sprained ankle
Memphis Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey is considered week-to-week due to a sprained ankle he sustained in Sunday's win over the Denver Nuggets, head coach Taylor Jenkins announced Tuesday, according to team reporter Michael Wallace.
The two-time Naismith Player of the Year suffered the sprain in the third quarter while boxing out after a free throw. He had to be helped off the floor by his teammates and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The Purdue product is averaging 11.1 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 60% from the field.
The Grizzlies are also without star point guard Ja Morant, who has missed five games with a hip issue, as well as second-year wing GG Jackson after he underwent foot surgery in early September.
Memphis sits seventh in the Western Conference with an 8-6 record. The Grizzlies will take on the Nuggets in their second NBA Cup game of the season Tuesday night.
